There are some interesting ideas in this thread, and timely ones: you may have noticed a lot of recent activity with languages. If you welcomed that, there's good news. There's more coming.

Now, that doesn't mean tomorrow -- making a fantasy language is a big job, and making a good language system is an even bigger one. What you can expect to see is an addition here, an addition there, in a series of improvements.

Specifically: on Axson's suggestion that one should be able to chant, sing, recite, etc. in one's native racial language, this is worth looking into. And for a long time, a system for learning languages has been discussed among some of the GMs; it's an idea that has promise. But the first step is to have something for the players to learn, so a learning system is probably further down the line than the creation of the languages themselves.

Keep watching -- you're in for some surprises.
