Changes to ROAR re: the Kill Counter 11/03/2001 08:38 PM CST
As you all know, under the right conditions, ROAR can be a lethal weapon. It can even affect players who aren't in the same room as you if your Roar is powerful enough. There are no plans to change the functionality of ROAR; however, it has required a change in how it is handled by the Murder Tracker, and we're releasing this change today.

In short, if someone died as a consequence of injuries inflicted by your Roar, their death was not being registered by the murder tracker - the mechanism that tracks how many players a person has killed in a certain period and puts you in a "time-out" room if you appear to be on a murder spree. This meant that, in some situations, we had Roars killing throngs of individuals while the system failed to register that the Roarer was causing any player deaths.

This has been changed so that if anyone dies as a result of your Roar, your murder count WILL now be incremented. However, if multiple people die as a result of one Roar, it will be registered as only one death caused by you - exactly like Fire Rain now operates for Warrior Mages. This means that the system will now take notice if you kill someone with your Roar - but will not register multiple deaths as separate killing instances IF all deaths resulted from the same Roar.

Any questions, post 'em in Responses. I figure it's fairly clear though. :)
