I want to have just "a goatee" or "a neatly trimmed goatee".

So far I've managed "a sparse goatee" and "a long, neatly trimmed goatee".

Is there something inbetween?

All I did was grow it long then shape it to a goatee and cut it down until I was happy but instead of going from "a long, neatly trimmed goatee" I think it went to some kind of short beard, so I shaped that to goatee again and it went to a sparse goatee.
