Beard and Mustache suggestions 07/13/2005 07:19 PM CDT
I wonder if we will be able to arrange our beards and mustaches like we do our hair?

Arrangement suggestions:

beard (loose)

a beard twined with colorful ribbons
a beard with a narrow bone suspended from the end
a beard with a tiny bell tied to the end

mustache (loose)
a mustache which is heavily waxed
a mustache with a tiny bell suspended from each end
a mustache with ribbons tied at each end

beard (braided)
a multiple braided beard twined with ribbons
a braided beard with tiny bells woven into the ends
a braided beard with a narrow bone woven into the middle

mustache (braided)
a braided mustache twined with ribbons
a braided mustache woven with a narrow bone on each end
a braided mustache with tiny bells woven into the ends

I haven't been able to come up with some for tied. Perhaps I'm wishing for too much?

Anyone else have any suggestions? Pour them on!

Here's a few more, I always thought it'd be neat to braid stuff in yer beard or wear it differently:

1. Arranged into several simple braids
2. Arranged into three complex braids
3. Arranged into a wide, elegant Dwarven warbraid
3. Laced with [critter type] bones
4. Laced with [metal type] Haakish runes depicting [peace, prosperity, war, etc.]
5. Laced with [gemstone type, metal type or stone tyep] beads
6. Straight and neatly combed
7. Forked
8. Tucked under his/her [chest clothing or body armor]
9. Tucked under his/her belt (if sufficiently long)
10. Twisted into oiled spikes

Oh, and it's be nice once it was braided, even with the existing system, that yer beard would stay braided. Also, would it be possible for older dwarves to be able to have longer, fuller beards; long for young adult, very long for adult, etc. Have the eldar dwarves with beards that extend past there knees!

You see Kalkomar Axebiter, Stone Warrior of Elanthia, a Dwarven Barbarian.
He has have green eyes. His red hair is long and thick, and is worn loose. He has tanned skin.
He has very long, thick full beard tucked under his dwarven mining belt

Kalkomar there is a reason why they come unbraided. It's so that they can grow. So for each time you notice that your beard is unbraided is one growth spurt.

Sortny, mah bad. Guess I didn't explain myself thoroughly.

Once I have the thick full beard (maximum growth), I'd be nice if it stayed braided. Or if something is already on the drawing board for more beard options, I'd like to hear it.

Since when does a beard or mustache stop growing? I don't think that was coded in, to stop growing that is.

This is as long as my mustache and beard have ever been:

You have a thick bushy mustache that droops heavily on your upper lip and a long shaggy beard.

It would be nice that once it got to this growth stage (seems to be the final stage) that it would stay braided. Or, if it could happen someday, be able to braid it special, lace it with pretty things, and otherwise arrange it to your liking, as per my previous post.

My second suggestion was to have older dwarves be able to grow a longer beard, as we hold both our beards and our elders in high regard. It would also be great to have race-related titles or names for ages, similiar to the Olvi.

Again, just a suggestion.
