What mana level were you trying to cast at? As with most TM spells, FB had its mana cap reduced. So if you were trying to cast at the same mana as you do in prime, you were probably casting at a significantly higher fraction of the cap, which will be more challenging.
You'll probably find that the amount of mana you can put into FB and similar spells has gone down. At the same time, the amount of mana you need to achieve a given effectiveness has had a corresponding decrease, so your actual power with the spell will be unchanged, once you find your new mana level.
