A Treatise on the Effects of Paper Cuts in Combat 02/23/2007 02:20 PM CST
Heyo!

After a long and terrible debate, the Elanthian Union of Critters (EUC) has finally emerged triumphant in their long-running battle to have the art of paper folding removed from combat. Far too many cave trolls have been traumatized by being unable to kill a squishy Elothean that is doing nothing more than making delicate folds in paper.

Translation:

It is no longer possible to fold origami paper while in combat.

This change is currently live in Prime and Platinum. The Fallen will follow in a couple of days.

Oh blast. Heh, I never really did that, anyway.

So zOMG, who pwn3d all the pigeons?! Is AIM getting too much f0g? Maybe they're going to have a time warp and I'll end up with the buddy list I had in 9th grade.

And to think that I just yesterday added this to my script. Oh well, can't say it doesn't make sense.

Woot:) I'm actually all for this. Annoyed me to watch some people dance all day while keeping this lore locked.

Yeah, definitely a good fix, because now all that's left of the non-combatants who are screwing up our generation rates are the traders and scavengers.

One question for Dart, though. A treatise?! Shoulda made it a paper airplane or something origami-ish. Although it would be really funny if the first available origami template was a zero-fold affair called "a treatise".

:(

To echo others, the change makes sense, but I'm sad about it.

Now all you need to do is enable instrument playing in combat...

Um...probably not. I am holding out for making underwater basket weaving possible in combat, though. Just gotta convince the bosses.

Luckily for me I haven't been able to learn mech in a very long time so this doesn't affect me at all. However I still use paper to train scholarship which is still possible in combat.

If it's all about learning mech lore while dancing (that is to say, while not moving around), why not just drop a few pyramids in the room you're dancing? Sure it doesn't help at night or in cloudy weather, but when it does work it works better than the origami.

Hey! No knocking on basket weaving! Any real basket weaver knows you have to keep the reed wet so therefore weaving underwater makes perfect sense! Hard part is holding ones breath.
