Best Weapon Templates? 05/12/2015 04:02 PM CDT

Howdy,

For someone with 95 strength and 95 agility, what are some good weapon templates? From what I can gather, the more volume a template has, the more damage it does. Additionally, higher volume templates are generally are more suited for strength, and less balanced.

Is the increase in damage worth it, or is it better to stick with better balanced weapons? Does anyone have favorite templates for high stat characters of each weapon type?

I know it doesn't exactly answer your question, but here is a chart that lets you compare many of the weapon templates.

Thanks! I think I've done all the "book learning" that I can. What I need now is people's experience, whether or not gaining more suitedness (and weight) is worth the loss of balance.

If you can hit your target 85% (pretty much all of PvE) of the time then go for the power/weight always.

To add further depth to this, when backtraining, a balanced weapon will help you to backtrain higher up the critter ladder than a weapon with higher power because of the accuracy boost.

So basically, pick whatever weapon has the most volume for a given type? Like pick the 2HE with the most volume, then the pick the staff with the most volume, etc?

I train all weapons evenly, so my masteries combined with eagle/dragon form generally make it so I don't miss too much.

Pretty much. It's not quite as simple as that, since there's stuff like damage stats, suitedness and FoI to consider. But going with the heaviest weapon isn't a bad way to simplify it as long as you have the stats to offset the higher RT.

If you don't tire out when using it, sure.

It's my understanding that team Combat may eventually revisit how much weight influences things because people do still lean heavily toward using max density weapons.

Uzmam! The Chairman will NOT be pleased to know you're trying to build outside of approved zones. I'd hate for you to be charged the taxes needed to have this place re-zoned. Head for the manor if you're feeling creative.
